Congressman MacArthur Announces Grants for Bordentown Fire Department
Washington, D.C. – Congressman MacArthur released the following statement announcing the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awarded Bordentown $59,602 in grant money:
Our brave firefighters risk their lives every day when they gear up for a shift so it’s critically important we provide them with the resources they need. I’m grateful DHS has awarded Bordentown this grant that will help ensure safety for the public and our firefighters, who willingly take serious risks to protect the lives and secure the safety of their fellow citizens.
The Assistance to Firefighters Grant is an important component of the larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the Nation’s overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related hazards. Since 2001, the AFG Program has provided approximately $6.4 billion in grants to first-responder organizations.
