MacArthur Accepting Service Academy Nominations
Washington, D.C. – Congressman MacArthur today announced that his office is now accepting applications from those ages 17-23 in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District who are interested in attending a United States Service Academy.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. Congressman MacArthur may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot.
“One of the highest honors I have as a Representative in Congress is annually nominating exceptional candidates from our community to the service academies,” said Congressman MacArthur. “I am grateful to represent such bright and determined young men and women and proud to see so many of our young students choosing the noble path of service in the United States military. If offered appointments, these young men and women will receive both a world class education and the skills they will need to become tomorrow’s military leaders.”
Service Academy nominations must be submitted to Congressman MacArthur’s Burlington County office by November 1, 2016. For more information, visit https://bit.ly/2dn40qe
