MacArthur Announces Burlington and Ocean Counties are Eligible for Disaster Assistance
Washington, DC – Congressman Tom MacArthur today announced that the state of New Jersey has received a major disaster declaration to help communities recover from the Severe Winter Storm and Snowstorm that occurred January 22-24, 2016.
Public Assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities has been designated for both Burlington and Ocean counties. Last month, Congressman MacArthur joined a bipartisan group from the New Jersey delegation urging the President to allocate emergency funds to the state to assist with storm cleanup. Individuals that sustained damage during the storm will now be eligible for disaster relief through FEMA.
“New Jersey is no stranger to severe storms or natural disasters,” said Congressman MacArthur. “I want to make sure that the people of South Jersey know we are available to answer any questions and assist in any way possible in the claims process.”
